11/21/2008 (Chicago, IL) – Industry peers voted McShane Construction Company the 2008 General Contractor of the Year at the 21st Annual Awards for Excellence hosted by the Chicago Chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP). This marks the second successive year McShane Construction received this prominent award. Nomination criteria for the designation included projects that were signed or construction commencement that began between July 1, 2007 and June 30, 2008. McShane’s nomination was based on the aloft Hotel in Bolingbrook, Illinois; the Mori Seiki USA headquarter build-to-suit project in Hoffman Estates, Illinois; and The Residences at the Grove apartment complex in Downers Grove, Illinois. Roughly 1,000 attendees of the awards dinner, held at Chicago’s Navy Pier, voted in real time for the winning candidate. The award is especially significant given that it truly represents the opinions of colleagues, clients and competitors in Chicago’s commercial real estate community.
