(Rosemont, Illinois) – McShane Construction continues to mark progress and meet schedule milestones on the 102,000 square foot build-to-suit North American headquarters for Mori Seiki U.S.A., Inc. The project is located at the intersection of West Central Road and Huntington Boulevard within the Huntington Woods Corporate Center in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. The facility broke ground in September 2008 and is scheduled for a Summer 2009 completion. The building is situated on a 7.5-acre site and will include a fully featured 42,560 square foot showroom in addition to 59,000 square feet of office space. McShane Construction completed the erection of all exterior precast wall panels and recently finalized the roofing component for the entire building. Windows within the office portion are in place and work has commenced on the interior buildout. Rooftop units supplying heat and air conditioning to the office space have been installed and the entire building has permanent power capabilities. The next phase of construction includes the delivery of the two-story curtainwall entrance, which will provide the structure with an abundance of natural light, while also portraying a contemporary exterior. The headquarters will also feature two 25-ton cranes and a one-ton utility crane to facilitate the positioning and operation of Mori Seiki’s expansive product line of machine tools. Mori Seiki will utilize the facility to accommodate growth in the North and South American markets. The building will also provide office space for the Chicago Technical Center, MTL (Machining Technology Laboratory) and MSU (Mori Seiki University). Cornerstone Architects is providing the architectural services for the project.
