(Houston, Texas) - McShane Development recently broke ground on the OakBend Doctors Center – Grand Parkway, a 60,000 square foot, two-story medical office facility located on a five-acre parcel at 7830 West Grand Parkway South in Fort Bend County, Texas. McShane was selected to develop two new medical buildings on behalf of OakBend Medical Center, the largest full-service healthcare facility in the area. OakBend Medical Center is leasing space for medical practice groups and an imaging center offering CT and MRI capabilities. The hospital also formed a joint venture with local surgeons to open the area’s first Ambulatory Surgery Center. Sports performance and sports medicine firm, Plex, has committed to over 7,000 square feet and Trident Pharmacy will also occupy space. Additionally, plans are being finalized for a 24-hour emergency room. McShane will also develop OakBend Doctors Center – Southwest Freeway, the hospital’s 60,000 square foot, three-story on-campus medical office facility adjacent to the medical center’s new second campus in Richmond, Texas. The Houston office of Cadence McShane is the design/builder for the new projects. Denver-based Marasco & Associates, Inc. will provide conceptual design and space planning and Seeberger + Associates, LP will serve as architect of record. Tenant occupancy is expected in early 2010.
