Cadence McShane Awarded Sizable Renovation Project for Plano ISD

5/14/2009 (Plano, Texas) - On behalf of Plano Independent School District, the Dallas office of Cadence McShane recently began the significant renovation of the 170,739 square foot, two-story Hendrick Middle School located at 7400 Red River Drive in Plano, Texas. The comprehensive assignment at this existing educational facility includes extensive renovation to 55 classrooms, six science labs, a 480-seat cafeteria, library, competition and practice gymnasiums, band and choir areas including practice rooms, and locker and weight rooms. Utilizing thorough scheduling and safety procedures, Cadence McShane is carefully orchestrating the extensive construction activities while school is in session and 800 students and 86 faculty members occupy the facility. The extensive renovation project will be completed in early August 2009 to welcome the incoming school year. Plano Independent School District employs over 4,000 teachers throughout 68 schools, serving 53,000 students from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. VLK Architects is performing the architectural services for this sizable educational assignment.
