(Rosemont, Illinois) – The Associated General Contractors (AGC) of America and the Builders Association presented McShane Construction Company with two distinctive awards recognizing the firm’s outstanding safety record. McShane received a “National AGC Safety Award” highlighting the firm’s zero lost time incident rate for 2008. This program evaluates the safety records of AGC members of similar size and construction type across the country. The Builders Association honored McShane with a “Safety Recognition Award,” marking the company as a seven-time recipient of the award since the implementation of the program in 1999. McShane’s “Safety First, Last and Always” motto proved noteworthy as Director of Safety, Dennis Rumshas, accepted each of the awards along with fellow McShane employees. Rumshas has integrated a robust safety program on McShane job sites in order to ensure employees return home unharmed at the conclusion of every work day. He keeps safety at the forefront for all McShane employees through training, inspections and steady communication.
