(Plano, Texas) – The Dallas office of Cadence McShane Construction was recently awarded the 75,715 square foot addition and renovation assignment at Vines High School on behalf of Plano Independent School District (ISD). The school is situated on a 17-acre site located at 15th Street and Highedge Drive in Plano, Texas. The project will encompass 50,000 square feet of state-of-the-art updates to the school, including the renovation of the existing administrative and counselor offices, as well as improvements to the music and band areas. The assignment also includes a 25,715 square foot, two-story addition, featuring elevator service, for the school’s new science wing. Construction is scheduled to begin in late July 2009 with completion slated for November 2010. The project is part of Plano ISD's 2008 Bond Program, which voters passed on May 10, 2008 providing $490 million for construction, renovation and technology initiatives. The Plano Independent School District employs over 4,000 teachers throughout 68 schools, serving 53,000 students from pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade. Corgan Associates, Inc. will provide the architectural services for this educational assignment.
